Ashville starts work on £12m, 70,000 sq ft industrial development in Chippenham, Wiltshire

Ashville has started construction on Phase 1 of a new 70,000 sq ft industrial development at Methuen Park, Chippenham, Wiltshire

Located on the existing Methuen Park, Chippenham, the new Business Centre scheme in Phase 1 will comprise 20 high-quality units ranging individually from 1,400 sq ft to 3,500 sq ft, but can offer flexible combined accommodation up to 10,000 sq ft or larger units within a future Phase 2 up to 30,000 sq ft.

The scheme has a gross development value of £12m, with units to be made available on both a leasehold and freehold basis.

The units at Methuen Park, will be built by local contractors Spec Projects and an existing team of high-quality consultants led by Angus Meek Architects.

Initial site works on the 3.2-acre site commenced this May to provide Phase 1 which extends to 38,000 sq ft. Practical completion of the development is scheduled for Spring 2022.

Located just over one-mile west Chippenham town centre, the development offers easy access and frontage to the A350 dual carriageway which links to junction 17 of the M4.

Ashville’s development director, Spencer Crowder, said:

“We’re very pleased to see construction work start on site at Methuen Park to provide homes for local and regional businesses. The area is very well established in the office and industrial market and a good range of local facilities, which made it ideally suited for our speculative development model.  “The development is already receiving a great deal of interest from prospective occupiers and we are looking forward to successfully delivering this new estate. Once built, the development will provide a fantastic home for businesses across the region looking for sustainable Grade-A business space.”

Ben Humphries Development Manager at Ashville, said:

“We are excited to be expanding our construction program on this project.  The high-quality scheme will undoubtedly be popular in the area and we look forward to delivering a successful project providing renewable energy cost saving green initiatives, with benefits such as provision for plug in charging for car parking and solar panel PV opportunities. We expect to deliver a highly sustainable product for modern business requirements and reach an EPC ‘A’ rating.”

Joint agents on Phase 1, Methuen Park are JLL and Alder King with further details coming soon.
